WEATHER - Will vary in relationship to the wind, generally mornings are colder and afternoons getting warmer, temperatures between 2 degrees and 12 degrees, strong Easterly winds will bring cold weather especially in the mornings, rain showers on and off through out the day. The conditions are not good again this week, the swell and surf are big throughout the week inshore creating poor and dangerous conditions. Diving in the areas around Cardiff and Swansea are very reliant on the tides, wind and subsequantly swell and they are definitely not suitable for diving this week.
We have a full PADI Scuba Diving programme on Saturday with the PADI Open Water Referral Scuba diving course in the swimming pool in Hebron Hall in Cardiff, we have students from Swansea and even Somerset as well. A busy programme with students completing the PADI Open water course and the PADI Discover Scuba.

The Sea conditions as through out the winter have not been good around the coastline of Newport, Cardiff, Porthcawl, Aberavon, Swansea and Llanelli, the swells and big, sea state rough, visibility low, and all round bad conditions for Scuba diving and snorkelling.
Now the weather were hopefully start to change for the better, with lighter winds and sunnier longer days, we are still running all the PADI courses in the system including PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Advanced Open water Diver, PADI Rescue Diver and PADI Divemaster as well as the usual specialities, the courses are run through out the year in preparation for the diving season or diving abroad.

Well the conditions were bad last week but they have got even worse if that could be possible, gale force winds, 3-4 feet of snow, blizzards, ice you name it we have it across Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Llanelli, Stackpole we cant even get to the inland dive sites. So diving is definitely OFF everywhere accept for Egypt, South Africa, Caribbean etc.
We are still running the PADI diving programmes including the PADI Open Water Diver course, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and the PADI Divemaster course, theory based at the moment and then in the pool as soon as the conditions clear to get on to site.

As you may have gathered the winter season does not provide the best conditions for scuba diving in the South Wales region especially around Newport, Cardiff, Swansea and Tenby areas, the winds are high, gusty and variable, swells and surf are consistantly bigger, weather is colder and visibility hard to come by. This week is no exception the swell is high, the winds are big, the visibility is low and big tides.
However there is always the back up of the inland sites to dive in and also trips abroad especially winter destinations such as Egypt, South Africa, Caribbean. As always we are training people through the PADI system for there PADI Open Water Diver Course, the PADI Open Water Referral diver course and all other courses in the system. Ten students have just been trained up to the Referral system and preparing for their Open Water qualifying dives.

The seas are rough, the winds are high, the swell is huge, so there is no real safe possibility of scuba diving across the South Wales area. Again the best option will be to hed inland to the various controlled diving sites.

The weather at the moment is very unpredictable, in fact the only thing we can predict is that there will be no suitable Scuba diving conditions along the South Wales Coast, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, llanelli, Stackpole for the next few days due to stroms, sea state, visibility. The best option would be to head inland to protected dive facilities.
The start of a new year brings the start of our new PADI Open Water Diver programme, we are running the PADI Open Water diver course across the region with dates starting from today and through the rest of the year, conditions will not interrupt as we use theory, swimming pools and inland lakes for our initial diver training.
