Scuba Diving Wales, South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Carmarthenshire 18th November 2020 - Very high winds and big swells again for the next few days will result in poor diving conditions for the next few days this week. The winds are predominantly be from the West and the South and the coastal areas around South Wales will have very poor diving conditions. The better areas will be in Martins Haven, St Brides, Abercastle all in the West Wales area and all on the high tide. Visibility will be a concern with the rough sea conditions.The government lockdown policies are now changing daily and there are new restrictions on several sites, please follow the government legislation and restrictions for the day

The winds are mainly offshore so inshore conditions should not be too bad but there is an inshore swell. The better days will be the days with offshore Easterly winds and smaller swells. As the winds turn Westerly all inshore beaches and dive sites in the region will get blown out. The better areas on the coast will be on the Pembrokeshire side with Martins Haven, St Brides, Abercastle getting the better conditions. The government has move released the lockdown measures and is allowing travel and diving within specific groups.
