Scuba Diving Wales, South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Carmarthenshire 19th June - Not great conditions this week for scuba diving along the South Coast of Wales. Higher winds, onshore, big swells, stormy waters all bad for diving. The only possibility may be in West Wales in Martins Haven, St Brides Bay, Abercastle etc where the bays will be far more protected from the prevailing conditions.

Scuba Diving Wales, South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Carmarthenshire 012th June - Heavier rain predicted this week but also off shore Easterly winds for the Southern areas in Swansea, Carmarthen, Cardiff etc. Also smaller swells and lighter Westerly winds into next week. This should give better conditions for scuba diving in the South Wales and West Wales areas. Visibility may be low due to the recent swells and winds but entrance and exits from shore protected and water temperatures are getting to a comfortable 14 degrees.

Diving conditions will not be good on the South wales coast for the next few days but should change on Monday onwards with lighter winds and smaller swells. Sites in West Wales will also be effected with the winds coming in from the North. Very strong winds on Saturday making diving conditions volatile for the whole region. Sunday should be a better day and next week having the better of the low wind and smaller swells.

All areas from Swansea, to Stackpole to West Wales St brides will have good conditions, visibility will be less on the South wales coast and better in West Wales as is the usual case but some sites on the South Coast may have a couple of meters vis.

Scuba Diving Wales, South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Carmarthenshire 20th May 2020 - The winds have changed to South Westerly and Westerly directions and the swell has increased on Westerly and Southerly Beaches. The new winds and swells will cause adverse conditions on many coastal areas on the South Wales coast especially on the weekend with 30 mph Westerly winds and up to 12 foot swells. The protected beaches will have the better conditions such as martins Haven in West Wales and St Brides in the same area. Coastal areas facing West and South such as stackpole quay will have harder diving conditions. This may be easing on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Off shore winds in most areas and small swells giving calmer conditions and settled coastal sea conditions. Visibility should be good as well as there has been a period of Easterly offshore winds. As always the West Wales coastline will have the best diving conditions especially Martins Haven, St Brides Bay in Pembrokeshire. Offshore conditions are looking more moderate as winds are effective from all directions, the stronger wind days will give choppier conditions but visibility should still be good.

Winds will be predominately Easterly and offshore for most of the week after Saturday. Inshore conditions should be good and swells are low. Could be good coastal conditions but there will be a cold Easterly strong wind. Offshore conditions are looking very good on Frida and Saturday but blown out Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. West Wales will be the better option to dive especially Martins Haven, St brides Bay and Offshore sites such as the Hen and Chickens.

Scuba Diving Wales, South Wales, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Carmarthenshire 30th April 2020- Mixed bag this week with varied winds from all directions including Westerly and Easterly, this will affect South Wales Coastline for sea conditions and inshore water access across the region. Best place to dive would be in West Wales in Martins Haven and St Brides bay as well with the coastline protected facing towards the North. The swell is also varied this week and will affect mainly South and West facing beaches and again will have little affect on the protected North Facing Beaches in West Wales. Weather is colder than the last few weeks but strong Easterly winds have died down dropping the wind chill.

PADI and SSI Open Water Diver courses in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and South Wales - All our PADI and SSI courses are being run remotely at the moment due to the social distancing policy. Both SSI and PADI Open Water diver courses are run online which is completed prior to the practical pool training session.
